Keto Banana Nut Pancakes have become a breakfast staple in my house. They are so easy to make, using just a handful of ingredients and minimal prep time. Even better, they freeze well so they’re ideal for keto meal prep. I like to make a double or triple batch and freeze all of the leftovers for a quick breakfast on busy mornings.

Keto pancakes sound a bit complicated since the pancakes we all know and love are made primarily out of flour. However, this recipe uses a base of cream cheese and eggs, along with almond flour. The texture is a little denser than traditional pancakes but the flavor makes up for it. These keto banana pancakes actually taste a lot like banana bread!

Bananas are a no-go on a keto diet (did you know a typical banana has 27 grams of carbs!?) so these Keto Banana Pancakes are made with banana extract, not real bananas. The flavor is the same, the carbs are just omitted. If you’ve ever made the 3 ingredient banana pancakes before, these have a similar texture as the cream cheese and egg mixture is more similar to the banana than flour.

What’s the best way to serve Keto Banana Nut Pancakes? Oh, the possibilities are endless. You can stay traditional with just a bit of keto maple syrup or butter, or go crazy with whipped cream, chocolate, or any other topping.

Call me crazy but sometimes I’ll just eat one of these pancakes without any topping on-the-go when I need a quick snack.

To add more flavor to these keto pancakes, I sometimes add cinnamon or nutmeg. If you’re a fan of banana bread with chocolate chips, mix in some keto chocolate chips and the flavor will be similar.

If you’re not a fan of banana flavor, just leave the banana extract out of the recipe. Either way, you’ll end up with delicious keto pancakes.

How To Make Keto Banana Nut Pancakes:

Step 1, Heat a greased skillet over medium heat on the stove.

Step 2, In a mixing bowl, combine eggs, cream cheese, almond milk, vanilla extract, and banana extract.

Step 3, Add in almond flour and sugar substitute, beating until well combined.

Step 4, Fold in pecans, reserving some for later.

Step 5, Drop 1/4 cup of the batter into the hot pan. Cook for a few minutes on one side, flip and cook for another minute or two.

Step 6, Top with keto-friendly syrup and additional pecans.

What variations can I make to these Keto Banana Nut Pancakes?

If you take out the banana extract, this is a great keto pancake recipe on its own. You can use it as a base for any other keto pancakes you’d like to make or just omit the banana extract for traditional pancakes. For some extra flavor, add in some cinnamon or nutmeg. You can also add in some keto chocolate chips, for some chocolate banana pancakes.

Can I freeze keto pancakes?

Yes! Keto pancakes freeze as well as traditional pancakes. I often make an extra batch of these Keto Banana Nut Pancakes just to have them on hand for breakfasts on a busy morning. Just make sure to let the pancakes cool completely before freezing!

Ingredients

  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 oz. Cream cheese softened
  • 1 tbsp Unsweetened vanilla almond milk
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp Banana extract
  • β…” c. Almond flour
  • 3 tbsp Swerve confectioners sugar substitute
  • β…“ c Chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat a greased skillet over medium heat on the stove.
  2. Combine the eggs, cream cheese, almond milk, vanilla extract and banana extract in a mixing bowl.
  3. Add in the almond flour and Swerve sugar substitute. Beat until well combined.
  4. Fold in the ⅓ cup of chopped pecans.
  5. Drop the batter by the ¼ cup full into the heated skillet. Cook each pancake for a few minutes on one side before flipping, and cooking for an additional minute or two on the other side.
  6. Top with your favorite keto friendly syrup, and serve immediately.
